Keren and I did the shopping for the week this morning and then, what else, we hung out in the car in the driveway for a while. We watched a bunch of walkers and joggers going by and one of them actually commented on the fact that we are always in the car!! I told her that we do, in fact, hang out all the time in the car in the driveway and that’s why she always see us in the car!
I was only able to get whole chickens in the supermarket this morning because I was there really early and they didn’t have much in the way of chicken. So I cut up the chickens while Keren was watching a video and the Keren and I hung out and pet some dogs in the neighborhood and played ball.
I took a chance, since it was so gorgeous this morning, and opened the windows and let the air in the house. I haven’t done that in a while because I am afraid that the mosquitoes are going to come in but I decided to live on the edge a little today and it was really nice.
I thought she was going to take a really long nap because she was really tired but she didn’t. She was up after 45 minutes. I basically spent the rest of the morning trying to get her to sleep. In the end she either went to sleep or realized that I was more stubborn that she was and wound up staying in her bed until I went in there a little after 2. So I wound up calling Robin and asking her to bring Ben home for me.
Talia and Ben came home around the same time and I gave them lunch and we did homework and then my grandparents came and we went to the monkey park with them. We schlepped my grandfather there even though he wanted to stay on the couch at my house and sleep and in the end he wound up just sitting outside the park on a chair for 2 hours while we went in with my grandmother!! It was a big mistake to bring him. The rest of us had a great time (as usual) at the park together. The kids never seem to get tired of that place.
Here are some pictures of the kids at the monkey park:
We came home and my grandparents stayed for dinner and ate up all my leftovers from Shabbat, which was perfect, and then left a little while later. It was pretty late so I did showers and bedtime really fast, threw a broccoli kugel in the oven and cleaned up the kitchen.
Oh, one thing that Talia said that was funny today: We were doing her math homework and I was teaching her when she was adding big numbers to line them up one under the other and she was doing it for a while and then she said, “This is fun!” I rolled my eyes (she couldn’t see) and told her that she was just like my mom. She responded “that’s because I AM Ggrandma!” She was so funny.
One Response for "“That’s because I AM grandma!”"
Oh, I love that child!
