Pesach vacation – Day 1

Friday was the kidslast day of school and when they came home we decided to take them to the shuk in Tel Aviv.  A friend of mine from high school is a photographer and she sends me things on Facebook letting me know where she will be displaying her work.  I’ve never gone to any of her things but this week I decided that we should all go.  Unfortunately, we went to the wrong place (totally my fault) and didn’t find her.  We did have a nice time looking at all the vendors in the area.  The kids particularly enjoyed the fact that we bought them ice cream!  They got a kick out of all the art there as well and it was a nice way to spend a Friday afternoon.

We also got our rug back on Friday.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t look so great.  The middle, which was burgundy, is now red and everywhere that it was cream is now pink, including the tassels.  At least it is dry and smell free.

Shabbat afternoon we walked over to see Robin’s mom who is in for Pesach.  The kids played while I played Bananagrams with Robin and her mom.  We left after Shabbat was over.  It was fun.

Sat. night Eric took Talia and Yehudah Zemel (Freddie is away) to learn and Ben, Keren and I watched the movie Toy Story.

Today, the first day of Pesach vacation, I got to sleep late (yipee) and we had a relaxing morning at home and then went out to lunch.  In the afternoon Keren napped and Eric and Ben ran some errands while Talia and I cleaned up the toy room for a while and then I sat outside in the sun and read while Talia played inside.  Talia was so tired from a late night last night that she fell asleep in the playroom and when Eric came home he said that Ben also fell asleep in the car on the way home!

Talia had a party this evening and Ben, Eric, Keren and I went bike riding and then to the park.  Eric came home early  to work a little bit on his computer problems and I stayed with the kids a little while longer.

All in all, not a bad first day of vacation.  We are hoping it warms up a little more tomorrow and we can hit the beach!
