Early wake up

The morning started early.  Ben was up at some crazy hour and I guess he couldn’t wait for the rest of us to wake up anymore b/c he took his pillow and blanket and put it outside his room and waited for Talia to wake up.  She says he opened her door to see if she was awake, thereby waking her up.  He says he didn’t do it.  I believe her.  Anyway, somehow fighting ensued and they came up to my room at 6:35 am all dressed and ready to go!!  Too early for me!!!  I threw them out and told them to go play on the computer.   Next thing I know Ben is crying very loudly downstairs.  Right after that Keren woke up.  That’s when I threw a fit.  I grabbed Keren and told Talia and Ben to get into their rooms until 7 and got back into bed with Keren.  Not fun!!

The kids went to school today and I hung out with Keren here.  We made challot (I made them while she watched TV and played in the flour) and we went for a walk to donate some of Eric’s old clothing.  We also went to the park and visited the chickens that live by the park.  She did a lot of walking, some with her shoes on, some with her shoes off when she decided it was time to take them off.  She also did a lot of barking at dogs.  The kid cracks me up.

I gave her a bite to eat and put her in for her nap and relaxed a little.

My grandparents came at 1:30 and I gave the kids lunch and then ran out to the supermarket to do my shopping while my grandmother played with the kids.  It was great.  When I got home Talia went to her friend’s house and I cleaned my chickens and made a kugel.  I have to get some of my cooking done today b/c we are going to a birthday party for my cousin’s son tomorrow night and I won’t have much of a night to do my cooking.  When my grandfather walked in the door he noticed my new glasses.  I was in SHOCK to say the least.  He was having a pretty good day today.

This evening we went to the mall to grab dinner.  Ben got sushi, Talia got a burger from McDonalds, Saba got pizza and my grandmother and I both got salads (mine a chicken, hers a steak) at Burgers Bar!  So it worked out all around.

We came home and had no hot water to take showers with.  I guess I used up the hot water when I was cleaning the chicken and the tank didn’t warm up again b/c the sun went down.  Now that the day is shorter we have to watch out for that.  So they took quick showers and didn’t wash their hair and then I put them to sleep.  By the time Keren was ready for her bath the water was warm enough (I put the dude on when we got home) to give her a quick bath and throw her into bed.

I just went through a box of Talia’s old clothing to see what might fit Keren this winter and now while it’s still warm.  That was a big accomplishment.  I hate doing that usually but it was fun to see Talia’s old things again that I totally forgot about.

I am totally bitten up.  I am not sure when I got all these bites.   One on my arm is HUGE!!  I had hoped that the fan in my bedroom solved the mosquito problem and we haven’t had one since we came back from the summer, whereas last year at this time I was in mosquito hell.  Now I am not so sure it wasn’t just a coincidence.  Let’s see what tonight brings…
