I drove the kids to school today and dropped them off a few minutes early so I could be at the bus stop today to pick up the cleaning man. I used to have him in the afternoon and so I would drop him off there in the evenings. Now that I have him come in the morning he needs to be picked up at 7 am in the morning. I called him last night and told him there was no way I could make it there that early and asked if he could work for me from 8-1 instead of 7-12. He said sure and this works out so much better than taking him in the afternoon! Now I don’t have to worry if we want to go somewhere in the evening.
Keren finally took a good nap today. I hung out with her in the morning at home while I did some cooking and cleaning up. We went for a walk to the park a little later and then came home and had a nice snack. I only put her in to sleep at 12 b/c I was waiting for the cleaning man to finish up with the vacuuming and also because she didn’t seem tired! I normally can’t do that b/c I have to pick Ben up at 1:30 but today I knew that he as going straight to swim and basically no one was coming home until 3. Believe it or not, she slept from 12-3!! It was great!
Ben came home and we did some English homework together that we hadn’t done yet. Then he had a bite to eat and relaxed in front of the TV. Talia came home next and we did her math homework. Come to think of it, we should have done English also but I guess we’ll save that for tomorrow since she normally doesn’t get any homework on Fridays. She had a lot of math homework and she said her hand was hurting her by the end. Then I gave her a quick bite to eat - the kitchen is ALWAYS open here!
We were going to go to the beach today to do Tashlich but at the last minute the kids weren’t so into it so called a friend to find out where they did and they he said that there is a house here that everyone goes to b/c they have a small pond on their property. It turns out it is really close to our house so I took the kids there. They really enjoyed it b/c they had some beautiful fish. Talia was nervous that we were trespassing. She is such a goody goody sometimes! I told her that they gave everyone permission to come and it’s okay. When the husband/father came home and saw us there he just smiled at us and said hi and that relaxed her a bit.
It was hard to get Keren to leave, she was so excited about the fish, but we finally did and Talia walked to her friend’s house and we went home to… play in the car!! Actually, Ben finished his movie and Keren hopped in the car to play around (again!!!)
I ordered a pizza since it’s Thursday night and when it came I called Talia at her friend’s house to come home. The mother invited us to them for lunch on Sukkot. I can’t believe I already invited company, shoot! I had to turn it down.
Anyway, Keren didn’t want to eat her dinner because she only at lunch at 3. I decided to give her some beans instead of the pizza b/c I know she likes them and I figured she would eat them. Well, she did. Take a look:
Eric comes home tomorrow. The week really flew right by!
